Help & Customer Service
Why shop on Cop
Cop is a Canadian marketplace for sneakers, streetwear, collectibles and trading cards. Independent, verified sellers list and ship the items; Cop runs the checkout, holds your payment and refunds you itself when a covered problem isn’t resolved. Here is what that means when you buy, and how it compares with other ways to buy.
A marketplace of verified sellers
Every offer is sold by an independent seller: a brand selling its own products, an authorized retailer or an independent reseller. The product page names the seller next to “Sold by” and shows the offer’s condition, price, delivery estimate and return terms before you buy. Before their offers can be bought, sellers accept Cop’s seller agreement, keep a payment card on file with Cop, provide identity and address documents and complete identity verification.
How sellers are selected
Selling on Cop is tightly controlled. Retailers and brand-direct resellers are few and hand-selected, and each one goes through a rigorous check before selling: Cop visits them, verifies where their products come from, and confirms they are a legally registered company. Sellers who don’t meet these standards don’t sell on Cop.
Authentic products only
Only authentic products may be sold on Cop. Selling counterfeits is prohibited and can lead to the offer’s removal and the suspension of the seller’s selling privileges. Sellers ship directly to you, so Cop does not physically inspect each item before it ships; instead, Cop holds your payment and stands behind the purchase. If an item you bought turns out to be counterfeit, Cop Buyer Protection refunds you.
Your payment is held by Cop
You pay Cop, not the seller. Your card is authorized at checkout and charged once Cop has reviewed the order. The seller is paid only after the order has shipped and at least 7 days after delivery, and the payout stays on hold while a claim about that order is open.
Cop Buyer Protection
If an item doesn’t arrive, arrives damaged, is counterfeit or is materially different from the offer, and the seller doesn’t resolve it, Cop reviews your claim and funds the approved refund itself, whatever the seller’s return terms, final-sale items included. Submit a claim within 30 days of delivery; approved refunds go back to your original payment method within 10 business days. It is included at no extra charge with eligible purchases made through Cop’s checkout.
Returns
Each offer shows its own return terms before you buy (“Terms for this offer”): the return window, who pays return shipping and any restocking fee. Where Cop’s return policy applies, eligible new items can be returned within 30 days of receipt, unworn and in their original packaging. Some resale and collectible items are final sale; that never limits a claim for a counterfeit, damaged or wrong item.
Delivery and pickup
Sellers ship from their own location; orders don’t pass through a Cop warehouse. The product page and checkout show the delivery cost and an estimated delivery date before you pay, and you receive the tracking number once the seller ships. Items from several sellers can arrive in separate parcels. Where a store offers pickup for your items, you can choose it at checkout and collect your order with your ID and order number.
Payment options
Visa, Mastercard and American Express, Apple Pay and Google Pay (right from the product page), Shop Pay and Cop gift cards. Card payments are processed by Stripe over an encrypted connection; Cop never sees or stores your full card number.
Prices in Canadian dollars, taxes shown before you pay
Prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD). Sales taxes (GST/HST and QST where they apply) are calculated from your delivery address and shown at checkout with the delivery cost, before you pay. A crossed-out price is only ever the product’s retail price, never an invented “was” price.
Condition and reviews you can trust
Every offer shows its condition; a used offer says so next to its price (for example “Used – Good”), with the seller’s note and photos. Only buyers who bought the product through Cop can review it, and sellers can’t review their own products.
Built in Québec, in French and English
Cop is operated by COP INC., a company based in Québec, Canada, and serves buyers across Canada. The store, checkout and policies are available in French and English, and our customer service team helps by chat or through the Message Center, before or after you buy.
How Cop compares
Each way of buying sneakers, streetwear and collectibles has trade-offs. Here is how they differ on the points that matter most.
| Cop | Classifieds (for example Facebook Marketplace) | Marketplaces that inspect at a central facility (StockX or GOAT style) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who you pay | Cop, through its checkout | Usually the seller directly, by cash or transfer | The marketplace |
| When the seller is paid | After shipping and at least 7 days after delivery | When you pay | Typically once the item passes the marketplace’s inspection |
| Counterfeit, damaged or not as described | Cop refunds approved claims itself (30 days after delivery) | Up to the seller; cash or a transfer is hard to recover | The marketplace’s own guarantee |
| Inspection before it ships to you | No: sellers ship directly to you | No | Yes, at the marketplace’s facility |
| Delivery | Directly from the seller, with an estimated date and tracking | Meet-up or shipping arranged with the seller | Seller to the facility, then to you |
Buying from a reseller over social media works like classifieds: once you send money directly, getting it back depends on the seller. When the same reseller sells on Cop, you pay through Cop’s checkout and Buyer Protection applies.
