Cop Creator Terms

The French version is presented first; this English version is provided for information. French version: Conditions des créateurs Cop.

Version 2026-10-03-v2. These terms are between Cop Inc. (“Cop”) and the person taking part in Cop’s creator program (“you”). They add to Cop’s Conditions of Use and Sale and Privacy Notice. If they conflict for a video you upload, these terms apply. The French version is presented first; this English version is provided for information.

1. The program

The program lets you publish short videos on Cop that show items offered on Cop. Approved videos appear in the Fil, on your creator shop (cop.boutique/c/your-handle), on the pages of the products shown, in Joa’s answers and in the Cop app. Cop pays you a commission on the sales your videos and shop bring (sections 9 and 10). Taking part does not make you an employee, agent or partner of Cop.

2. Eligibility and application

To take part, you must have a Cop account and be 18 or older. You can join by connecting your professional Instagram account (“Continue with Instagram”) or by filling in an application.

Your application gives:

  • your name;
  • the handle chosen for your page;
  • your Instagram username, if any;
  • an optional note.

You must give accurate information and must not pretend to be someone else or use someone else’s Instagram account. Cop reviews each application and may accept or refuse it. A person whose application was refused may apply again.

3. Your videos

Each video must:

  • be 90 seconds or shorter;
  • be in MP4 or MOV format;
  • respect the maximum size shown at upload.

For each video, you confirm:

  • that you made it, or hold every right needed to publish it on Cop under these terms: the footage, music, sound, text and any other element;
  • that every person who can be recognized in it agreed to appear in it and to it being shown this way. In Québec, a person’s image is protected by articles 35 and 36 of the Civil Code;
  • that no minor appears in it without the written consent of the person having parental authority or the tutor;
  • that every item shown is authentic. You do not show, promote or link to counterfeits, replicas or “reps”;
  • that the video contains no hateful, harassing, sexual, violent, dangerous or illegal content and infringes no one’s rights;
  • that the caption and item tags are accurate.

4. Licence to Cop

You keep ownership of your videos. For each video you upload, you grant Cop a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence, transferable to its service providers. This licence lets Cop do the following with the video:

  • host it and convert it (for example to 720p);
  • extract a cover image from it;
  • resize or crop it;
  • add item links, captions and translations;
  • show and share it in the Fil, on cop.boutique, in the Cop app and in unpaid posts on Cop’s social-media accounts, next to the items offered.

Paid advertising. This licence does not cover paid advertising. Cop uses a video in a paid ad (for example on Meta) only if you expressly allowed it for that video, by ticking the box provided for this at upload, which is never ticked in advance. You can withdraw that permission at any time by removing the video or by asking customer care.

Videos from your connected Instagram account. If you connect your Instagram account, you authorise Cop, for as long as that account stays connected, to copy the videos (reels) from that account, store them on Cop’s servers and display them on Cop (in the Fil, on product pages and on your creator shop), with the items matched to them. Cop reads only your own posts and never posts on your behalf. You can hide a video or disconnect your account at any time. After you disconnect, Cop removes these videos from Cop within 30 days.

The licence lasts as long as the video stays on Cop. It ends when you or Cop remove the video, subject to section 8. You waive your moral rights in respect of the technical changes described above, to the extent needed for this licence.

5. Review, refusal and removal by Cop

Your creator account starts as “pending”: your videos are shown only once Cop approves your account. Cop may “pause” your account: your shop and videos are then hidden and new orders earn no commission.

Cop reviews each video before showing it. Cop may refuse a video, or remove it at any time, if it breaks these terms or the law. You are told the reason for a refusal. Cop may let some trusted creators publish without prior review, and may withdraw that status at any time.

Cop may suspend or close your creator account for a serious or repeated breach. The reason is recorded. A suspension or closure hides your videos and cancels your pending uploads. If your account is restored, your videos stay hidden until Cop republishes them.

6. Automated processing and personal information

To match items to a video, Cop sends the video’s cover image to its AI provider (OpenAI, in the United States), which Cop asks not to keep it for later use. Cop keeps only the description of the items. These matches are then checked.

The following information is public:

  • your name;
  • your handle;
  • your Instagram username;
  • your bio;
  • your approved videos and the items matched to them.

Your email address, application note and moderation decisions are not public. Cop’s Privacy Notice applies.

7. Disclosing commercial ties

You must clearly disclose, in the video caption, any material connection with a brand, a seller or Cop that could affect how the public sees the video, as the Competition Act requires. This includes a payment, a free item, a commission or a discount. Use “#partenariat” or “#pub” (or “#ad”), or the platform’s paid-partnership label. On Cop, your videos and shop also carry a “Cop partner” label, because Cop pays you a commission. You must not make any false or misleading statement about an item, including about its authenticity, condition or price.

8. Removing your videos

You can remove a video at any time from your creator space or, if your creator account is suspended or closed, by asking customer care. Removal takes effect immediately on cop.boutique and in the app. Cop then removes the video files from public storage within 30 days. A post already made on Cop’s social-media accounts is removed within the same period.

Cop may keep copies beyond that period only if the law requires it or to settle an ongoing dispute.

9. Sales attribution and statistics

When someone taps one of your videos (its items or “Shop the look”) or visits your creator shop, Cop records that click in their browser (a cookie used only for attribution) and, if they are signed in, on their Cop account. An order is attributed to you:

  • if it is placed within 24 hours of that click;
  • or, for an item added to the cart within those 24 hours, if that item is bought within 30 days of being added.

The last click wins: if the person then clicks another creator’s video, that creator gets the attribution. Your own purchases (with your Cop account or your email address) are never attributed to you. Nothing is attributed if the person declined personalization. Your creator space shows you the clicks, orders, commissions and statistics for each of your videos.

10. Commissions

Cop pays you a commission on each item of an order attributed to you, by the item’s category:

  • sneakers: 4%;
  • clothing and streetwear: 6%;
  • accessories, jewellery, watches and bags: 6%;
  • trading cards and collectibles: 3%;
  • everything else: 4%.

The commission is calculated on the items’ price after discounts, excluding taxes and shipping. It is paid by Cop, out of its own fees: it is never deducted from the amounts paid to the seller. Cop may change these rates; a new rate applies to orders paid after it is published in your creator space.

A commission is “pending” until the order is delivered and the return period has passed (30 days after delivery); it then becomes “payable”. If an order is cancelled or fully refunded, its commission is cancelled; if it is partly refunded, its commission is reduced accordingly. Payable commissions are paid monthly by the payment method agreed with Cop.

Cop may withhold or cancel a commission obtained through fraud or artificially (for example your own orders placed another way, fake orders or bought clicks). You are responsible for reporting this income and, if you are registered for GST and QST, for telling us.

11. Your responsibility

You are responsible for the content of your videos and captions. If someone claims money from Cop because of a video that does not meet your confirmations in section 3, you indemnify Cop to the extent permitted by law.

12. Changes to these terms

Cop may change these terms. Each version is dated. You must accept the new version before your next upload. Videos already published remain governed by the version you accepted, unless you accept the new one.

13. Ending your participation

You can leave the program at any time by asking customer care. Section 8 then applies to your videos. Commissions already payable are paid to you; pending ones become payable under section 10. Sections 3, 10, 11 and 14 survive the end of your participation.

14. Governing law and language

These terms are governed by the applicable laws of Québec and Canada. The French version is presented first; the English version is provided for information.
